La probl\u00e9matique de la promotion et du maintien de la paix se pose toujours avec acuit\u00e9. Plusieurs pays, dans le monde et pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment en Afrique, sont confront\u00e9s \u00e0 des conflits arm\u00e9s, occasionnant d\u2019\u00e9normes pertes en vie humaine, et un d\u00e9placement massif des populations.Le Burkina Faso ne fait pas exception \u00e0 cette r\u00e8gle.<\/p>\n

C\u2019est dans ce contexte de pr\u00e9carit\u00e9 et de vuln\u00e9rabilit\u00e9, que le Conseil de S\u00e9curit\u00e9 a adopt\u00e9 la r\u00e9solution 1325 en octobre 2000 dans le but de promouvoir la participation des femmes aux actions de maintien de la paix et de la s\u00e9curit\u00e9. Malgr\u00e9, l\u2019adoption de cet instrument et de ses r\u00e9solutions s\u0153urs, nous constatons, conform\u00e9ment aux donn\u00e9es secondaires exploit\u00e9es que les femmes sont toujours exclues des n\u00e9gociations de paix ou du moins elles participent faiblement auxdites n\u00e9gociations. Afin de mieux cerner cette probl\u00e9matique, nous avons d\u00e9cid\u00e9 de faire une \u00e9tude analytique sur l\u2019\u00e9tat des lieux de la participation des femmes aux actions de maintien et de promotion de la paix au Burkina Faso. Cette \u00e9tude a pour objectif d\u2019analyser la participation des femmes aux actions de maintien et de promotion de la paix, d\u2019identifier les facteurs limitants cette participation et de proposer \u00e9ventuellement des solutions. Selon la classification JEL, cet article est affect\u00e9 le code D63, Equit\u00e9, justice, in\u00e9galit\u00e9s et autres crit\u00e8res et mesures normatifs.<\/p>\n

Aux termes de cette analyse, on peut retenir que les femmes participent auxdites actions, cependant cette contribution est soit invisible, soit peu valoris\u00e9e. Les facteurs socioculturels et la faible capacit\u00e9 technique de ces derni\u00e8res expliquent cette situation. En effet, le patriarcat accorde un faible statut \u00e0 la femme, comparativement \u00e0 l\u2019homme. En outre, cette derni\u00e8re est confin\u00e9e \u00e0 la sph\u00e8re priv\u00e9e, alors que les \u00ab\u00a0questions de paix demeurent une affaire d\u2019hommes\u00a0\u00bb, exclusivement de la sph\u00e8re publique. Pour y rem\u00e9dier, il faut d\u00e9construire les normes sociales discriminatoires et mieux capaciter les femmes afin qu\u2019elles puissent jouer leur partition dans ce processus.<\/p>\n

The problem of the promotion and maintenance of peace is always acute. Several countries, in the world and specifically in Africa, are confronted with armed conflicts, causing enormous loss of human life, and a massive displacement of populations.Burkina Faso is no exception to this rule.<\/p>\n

It is in this context of precariousness and vulnerability that the Security Council adopted resolution 1325 in October 2000 with the aim of promoting the participation of women in actions to maintain peace and security. Despite the adoption of this instrument and its sister resolutions, we find, in accordance with the secondary data used, that women are still excluded from peace negotiations or at least they participate weakly in said negotiations. In order to better understand this problem, we have decided to carry out an analytical study on the state of play of women’s participation in actions to maintain and promote peace in Burkina Faso. The purpose of this study is to analyze the participation of women in actions for the maintenance and promotion of peace, to identify the factors limiting this participation and to propose possible solutions. According to the JEL classification, this item is assigned code D63, Equity, justice, inequality, and other normative criteria and measures.<\/p>\n

According to this analysis, it can be noted that women participate in these actions, however this contribution is either invisible or undervalued. Socio-cultural factors and the low technical capacity of the latter explain this situation. Indeed, patriarchy grants a low status to women, compared to men. Moreover, the latter is confined to the private sphere, while \u201cquestions of peace remain a matter of men\u201d, exclusively of the public sphere. To remedy this, we must deconstruct discriminatory social norms and better empower women so that they can play their part in this process.<\/p>\n
